JA Low & Son is a family farming partnership based at St Osyth Lodge Farm, near the Essex coast between Clacton-on-Sea and Brightlingsea. Potatoes and onions are the heart of the business: we grow around 60 hectares of each every year for the packing and fresh produce trade, starting from quality seed, watching every crop closely through the season and handling it with care at harvest, so that what leaves the farm is consistently good. Our potatoes are marketed through East Suffolk Produce, the farmer-led group of growers along the Suffolk and Essex coast. Around 300 hectares of winter wheat, winter and spring barley, sugar beet, oilseed rape and spring linseed complete the rotation and keep the land in good heart.
